Trump sees any acknowledgement of Russian interference into the 2016 election as a delegitimization of his victory. This explains his political behavior today and why he refuses to consider the idea.

Except for the fact that before he was even elected, he was accusing the DNC of hacking the election.

/e Unless we are assuming that Russia hacked the Electoral College, that is. Hillary WON the popular vote. If the election was hacked and Hillary won the popular vote... must be a pretty crappy hacker, if Trump was involved.

DNC server hacked, but no one confiscates the server.


Yet every one assumes, Trump + Putin.

Trump refused to acknowledge any of the potential Russian interference before the election primarily because the efforts were largely understood to be generally anti-Clinton, even at that time (whether it was true or not).

Trump very likely has never honestly entertained the idea of Russian interference publicly or privately. To do so would be to delegitimize his victory and his presidency itself. Every step of the way has been a complete denial despite new information becoming available.

To be honest I don't believe Russia hacked the election either. We've got people right here that would be much better at doing that.

No one accused Russia or Trump of anything until after he accused Hillary of hacking the election.

Maybe I'm not playing 34D Jenga like Trump, but his political behavior on this subject is starting to make very little sense. The statements he made alongside Putin today are clearly politically disadvantageous for him to make.

Perhaps Trump is genuinely America's savior and he's navigating us through yet another anti-Russian propaganda campaign at his own political expense. But I don't think that's currently the best explanation for his behavior. I'm starting to think it's something more sinister.

Don't get me wrong. He might turn out to be the worst president ever.

BUT...

I like what he's doing about our trade agreements.
I like what he's doing about immigration.
I like that he gave control of our forces to the generals.
I like that he said he wasn't gonna broadcast our plans anymore.

As for the Helsinki summit, I'm not gonna hang or pardon him, w/o more info. Atm, I'm just playing devil's advocate to the tidal wave of lefty sentiment.


/e And I honestly believe that one or both of the Clintons are crooks, and that Obama had nothing good in mind for this country.

Trump has made it quite clear that he hates just about everything Obama did while he was president. Hell, Trump is probably trying to "buy" the tape from Putin to put it on Youtube.
