One is outrage and property damage most people dont agree with, even democrats, but some fan the flames to try and boost votes and hope it doesnt come to their city. Burning BLM cities do not have as widespread support as the GOP pretends it does. and the goal is to get a cop charged for murder.

One was a run on the electoral vote certification to try and stop the legitimately voted in president from taking office.

context matters, one is stupid property damage, one is an insurrection. an ineffectual and pointless insurrection, it never had a chance of working, but one none the less.

The scope and success chances of Jan 6th were blown out of proportion, but the underlying intent was indeed vile and dangerous.

They had no chance, but let's hypothetically assume the mob had succeeded at taking over the Capitol and stopping the EC vote - do we seriously think Trump would have had any reservations about overthrowing the election and staying in office based on the power of a violent mob?

to be fair i think Trump's "end game" was to somehow force an unprecedented judgement by the supreme court, if he was to retain power. and even then he knew it was a serious longshot. he knows the lack of evidence his team found isnt court worthy, but its enough to convince laymen. so his real end game is just to use it as a tool to keep support, not office. he just fucked up majorly by riling up a literal mob, rather than twitter outrage as he'd been farming since before polls even closed.

the truth is it's almost certainly impossible to literally overthrow the process and retain presidency, unless you have the entire armed forced willing to occupy Washington DC. and then both the scotus and legislature would refuse to serve in their capacities, and the whole govt screeches to a halt leaving you the king of a nation that cant follow through on your orders. he'd have had to literally rebuild the american govt, going against his brand of being in line with constitutional teachings.

it was always a show, never to retain office, even the millions spend by Rudi and co.

Anyone with more than 2 brain cells knew and now knows it had no chance. This isn't shithole banana republic in Africa where an angry mob can change anything. The sky is falling people are just as dumb as those people there that thought storming in and stopping a largely ceremonial procession would change anything.

You seem to have failed to real my post, sir. I said you have failed to recognize textbook insurrection and call it what it is, rather you say “1-6 insurrection” as if it is the worst thing that happened even within the previous year.

Not many real people supported the blm riots, not a single person called them insurrection. Except me.

i have been stating plainly that BLM are holding DAs hostage to file charges that will largely fail in court for years.

"WASHINGTON — As a pro-Trump protest turned into a violent attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6 last year, four people in the crowd died. Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer as rioters tried to breach the House chamber. Kevin D. Greeson died of a heart attack, collapsing on the sidewalk west of the Capitol on Jan. 6. Rosanne Boyland appeared to have been crushed in a stampede of fellow rioters as they surged against the police. Benjamin Philips, the founder of a pro-Trump website called Trumparoo, died of a stroke. Mr. Greeson and Mr. Philips died of natural causes, the Washington medical examiner said in April. He added that Ms. Boyland’s death was caused by an accidental overdose.

In the days and weeks after the riot, five police officers who had served at the Capitol on Jan. 6 died. Officer Brian D. Sicknick of the Capitol Police, who was attacked by the mob, died on Jan. 7. Officer Jeffrey Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department killed himself after the attack. Officer Howard S. Liebengood of the Capitol Police also died by suicide four days afterward. The Capitol Police had previously said that Officer Sicknick died from injuries sustained “while physically engaging with protesters.” The Washington medical examiner later ruled that he had died of natural causes: multiple strokes that occurred hours after Officer Sicknick’s confrontation with the mob. The medical examiner added, however, that “all that transpired played a role in his condition.”

A bipartisan Senate report, released in June, found that the seven deaths were connected to the Capitol attack. But the report was issued a month before two Metropolitan Police officers — Gunther Hashida and Kyle DeFreytag — died by suicide in July. The police agencies have not classified the four total suicides as “line of duty” deaths that would provide the victims’ families with enhanced benefits. Washington law excludes suicide deaths from the line-of-duty designation. About 150 officers from the Capitol Police, the Metropolitan Police Department and local agencies were injured, and hundreds of workers were traumatized by the mob."

...“Officer Jeffrey Smith was a mentally healthy person who received a blow to the head, began to exhibit symptoms he had never exhibited before, and nine days later died by suicide,” the lawmakers’ letter said. “The explanation for this tragedy seems clear.”

during a siege battle the front gates would often be opened simply to let the forces run themselves into a trap inside of the castle walls. breaching the capital turned out to clearly not be as dangerous as it sounded on face value. those who were important were evacuated, and other than a few chance encounters once inside the protesters weren't able to cause much trouble. this is due to the amount of time they were stalled outside of the capital.
