Look, there is no justifications in any sorts when it comes to conflicts where civilians are being sacrificed or should we say " collateral " damage if I used the right word.
The same reason why I would say the United States wouldn't want any of their immediate neighbors to go Marxist Left or have close relationships with their adversaries.
I believe Cuba have been somehow "sanctioned" in one way or another for the past 62 years. Although Obama tried to make some changes but when Trump came to power things changed back.

It is all about Geo Politics and interest from big players. It used to be the Soviet Union and USA and We are now in the China and USA era and sooner or later it will be three prong , China, India and USA with Russia by the side because they are still a 'nuclear superpower'.

We will see a lot of these unnecessary conflicts and I am going to call China and Taiwan in 2030 - 2031. It will be a repeat of the Ukraine situation but this time round slightly different.

I already mentioned there is no justification for violence, but it is what it is.
But the United States were fortunate in a way since most of her neighbors are not robust enough to warrant extreme actions since they can be handled in a slightly less violent and more effective manner.

So Ukraine changed leadership and their mind about NATO. They originally in 06-08 were stating that they wanted to start the process of joining NATO (MAP)
