There were planned peace talks between Kiev and Moscow before Boris Johnson went to Ukraine to shut that down.

Ukraine not having heat will be the serious change in circumstances.

Ukrainians don't want a peace where Russia retains its eastern territories.
Putin can't survive losing those territories.

As long as Russia still demands Ukraine to accept the preposterous annexation one fifth of its territory as a starting point for peace talks, they clearly have no interest in good faith negotiations.
