If they shoved a 6 year old on the ground they would also be following orders. It's an unarmed old man ffs, use some common sense. I know I was taught to treat my elders with respect and care but I suppose these people weren't. IMO, if you can't detain a 75 year old man without cracking his head open, perhaps you should find another job.
He's an adult male with no visually identifiable disabilities who walked up to them waving his camera around, its not like he's some infirm geriatric in a wheelchair.
Is there some magical cutoff age where you're allowed to riot with no consequence and police are unable to treat you the same as everyone else even if you act exactly the same as everyone else?
If a 110 lb 12 year old boy threw a brick at the police and they shot a pepper ball at him, would that be police brutality?
As I said, if police really wanted to tailor their enforcement to protect vulnerable people they should just start arresting any underage or overage or otherwise disabled people while pushing back the rest. Old guy would be better off if they had grabbed him and pulled him behind the police line and zip tied his hands and charged him with multiple crimes. Because there's plenty of people out on the streets during these riots who really shouldn't be there
