you only think it isn't egregious because you're using your own definition for "opponent" that the dictionary doesnt agree with. which is more than pointless, because even if Trump withheld aid so Ukraine would investigate Rosie Odonnell it would be egregious.

it's a check and balance of power. the legislature votes on aid packages and the executive branch facilitates them.

just as the president nominates SCOTUS justices, and the senate votes on them for approval.

the US govt is built on these checks and balances. abusing these checks on power for political reasons isnt good.
