No need to take the extreme position imo. It won't destroy drive for all but it certainly will reduce the drive for some in a population of 330 million.
Like if I consider myself for example. I want to work for a very long time, as long as my body & mind allows me to. That doesn't mean I want to be a wage slave 9-5 all day every day. I want to work, but ideally, I would like to have flexible hours with time off whenever I feel like it. Now with that being said, if I was getting some amount of free money which allows me to maintain my desired level of comfort while working a flexible job for less money compared to a 9-5 I might just choose the shittier but flexible job. If I was getting 1 grand a month for free right now, I know my short term decision making would be different.
it's an argument against the extreme that isn't going to happen by people that like their job/life and are in safer work
realistically what are we talking here? a few types of jobs would get what? 400-600$ if everything went well? and that's probably optimistic
Yang is the only one talking about this, he's being reasonable about it and people are going the welfare queen argument
this is literally the one politician facing a big problem coming and he is doing it pragmatically
what a political unicorn we have on our hands here and people wanna fight against it like in the opinion you posted? nah
