i honestly couldn't care less if it benefits bernie or not, it's just ridiculous that you're able to outright buy a chance at the presidency in america. by that logic i should be in support of trump abusing his office to get political dirt on biden - because that certainly 'helped bernie' as well. it's still wrong though.

Like .0000000001% of people can buy their way in. And it's a massive gamble that u might lose literal billions on.

Now state and local seats tho... thata way more common and doable.

You don't think Bloomberg is good at winning elections? I have not looked it up but I'm not sure how many elections he has lost.

In his most recent race, for mayor of NYC in 2009, he spent around $157 for every vote he got, while his opponent spent $13 per vote, yet he still only eeked out a 5% win:

so in other words, he threw absurd amounts of money at the race, until it was enough for him to win.
hardly impressive if you ask me.

again: I dont disagree with the notion that it's just wrong for Bloomberg or anyone to be able to buy himself into the race for president.
I just wanted to point out that Bloomberg's rise might actually help Bernie in the end, since Bloomberg being his final opponent for the Democratic nomination is the dream scenario for him.

he has won, and also lost, the same number of elections as Hillary prior to 2016.
the political landscape in new york city is just so much different from the national stage that it's hard to read much into it. particularly when the candidate in question consistently outspent his rivals to an absurd degree.

Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang plans to announce he is suspending his campaign during a speech tonight in New Hampshire, sources tell CNN.

Yang's decision comes a week after a disappointing finish in Iowa where he finished with just 1% support. Leaving the state with depleted resources, he had to lay off staff as the campaign looked to trim costs.

Not just that, there's also a good chance that he finishes New Hampshire in 5th place, behind even Amy Klobuchar. But really any 4th-or-worse place finish would create such a negative news cycle for him that I dont know how he could survive until South Carolina anyway. His campaign is running dry on money, and news cycles like this wont help them at all.

To me it feels as if the party and its donors have come to the conclusion that Joe just "doesnt have it" anymore, and they try to starve him out of the race instead of calling him out openly.

I don't even know how much more money could help Biden. He just doesn't appeal to Democratic voters. His whole thing was "electability" and his proximity to Obama. But now that those have faded and he is on less of a platform, he's just less politically talented, relevant, and likeable than some of the other candidates.

Yup. He was all name recognition with no substance behind it.
