The Deep State is when unelected officials start thinking they know better than everyone else and that they can dictate elections. Basically the elitists; people who think they're smarter than everyone else. This harkens back to J. Edger Hoover times where people like him thought they truly ran the country. You don't work or rub shoulders with state department people so I don't expect you to understand this. But it has become rife in recent decades.

But, of course, a Dunning-Kruger such as yourself would immediately latch on to conspiracy theories or conservative fear-talk. It makes you feel comfortable in your own ignorance.

Its not some sophisticated conspiracy theory, just the natural outcome of things where all the power brokers reside.
