I watched the 20:00 minute mark, I am not going to spend 40 minutes of my life watching a NYT video. I see a lot of angry people in the middle of a riot. I don't see anyone shooting officers or otherwise trying to takeover the government. It was a ridiculous and shameful event that placed everyone involved in a more dangerous situation, e.g. Ashli Babbitt is now 6 feet underground. I think you're constructing a strawman. Questioning whether this was an intentional attempt to takeover the United States federal government, something I think is certainly not true, does not mean that you support or sympathize with the protesters on January 6th.

Of everyone arrested, roughly ~20% are being charged with violent crimes. By the standards of our Antifa supporting friends / national media, that is a "fiery, but mostly peaceful" event. I think normal, sane people consider a protest violent if there's much violence at all, and January 6th certainly qualifies for that.

you are an idiot if you believe that this was not a coordinated attempt to take over the government - this was just ONE aspect of trump's multifauceted attempt to retain his seat in teh white house. there is a clear pattern of coordination, desperation, and outright lawlessness from trump, when combined with the cumulation of these events, how you come to that conclusion is beyond unreasonable.

these people have no right to be in the country and everyone of them on video should be shot dead. this was a planned, coordinated attack on an official US building with hopes to illegally detain/capture US lawmakers and the VP.

funny, each of these people would be charged under trump's own EO banning the destruction/defacement of national monuments and structures.

trump blame is a sure fire way to get people to not look into it tbh. trump played a part, but he wasn't the puppet master. in truth he hoped the courts would find stuff to stall the EC vote, he hoped Pence would do something at the last minute as well, but he didnt want the attack on the capital. it's his fault, he walks the knifes edge of getting people mad, but then also wanting to win by the rules and laws of the country. this event was the worst in his presidency that this strategy failed. Trump is a great candidate, he's a terrible leader. He's the robert baratheon of real life, great at the head of a column, a disaster on the throne once the battles are won.
