After mulling it over for some time, I am feeling disappointed that the oppressed class is choosing to vent their frustration by taking it out on each other.
The victims of these riots are the same people as the perpetrators. People lose their jobs. The rioters who get caught on security tapes will face legal consequences.
Meanwhile, the people who they are mad at still sitting comfortably in their mansions. Target gets their losses covered by insurance, who then pass on that cost to the average consumer in the form of higher rates.
We've seen this type of rioting so many times and it solves nothing. I wish we could learn from what's happened so far and take action for real change. If someone wants to riot, they should be doing so at the mansions of the people who perpetrated this injustice: Government officials, high ranking law enforcement, etc. The people in power need to be the ones feeling the backlash or nothing will change.
Instead of burning down a Wendy's, go and burn down the Governor's house. Send a message to the next Governor that there is going to be some accountability coming with the job.
They can riot and nobody will come in and kill them and it is an expression of rage that is tolerated by the powerful.
They did anything like you said that be murdered by the state. The police would put the mob down with guns and execute the leaders.
They trash their own neighborhoods because that's literally all they can do and they embrace nihilism because that's all they have.
These are people whose lives are worth nothing to the government that is supposed to protect and serve them. So they let them break their stuff. Then they will raise their rents and the price of bread and milk to pay for the damages they incurred.
And in the end nothing will have happened.
