Sitting off shore of a country that NO ONE is bothering (North Korea) who is pretty much stripping their country and arming for war IS a calmer approach.
China is the one that should be supervising their puppy dog...North Korea. But they seem to be "mostly" turning a blind eye.
They are basically trying to not make them their enemy, patient diplomacy, while being ready if needed.

The question still remains, who is North Korea arming for war...against? South Korea is not bothering NK, neither is Japan, and the US just got there AFTER North Korea started arming for war.
Ole Kim Jong is yelling that he will blow up everyone if the US fires a shot. We aren't firing anything. WE aren't stripping our country and arming for war.
Their massive army is because it is needed to defend the impossible state. Without it, it would be easily overthrown. The Kims see this, and the need to become a nuclear power in modern times to be able to conserve their civilization.

Let's put the blame where it belongs...please.
Right, these type of governments are highly dangerous in a nuclear world. Provoking them shows balls, at the cost citizens of surrounding countries.

/e If Japan and South Korea were way far away from North Korea, we wouldn't NEED to be there at all.
Unfortunately, ICBM's don't take very long to get to a target, so we need to be close, to be able to respond in time.
I actually wondered what happened here. I've read a bit about it, seen a few vid, one suggested that SK and become used to the threats NK made over the years.
Nothing said SK was asking the US to drop in with a carrier.. Did they?
