Unsealed to who? The FBI included the fact of the $10 mill load in a July 2017 application.

/e The public may have just learned about it, but the FBI has known for a year.

The application was sealed, meaning the information contained in it was not released to the public. When they say it was just unsealed, it means the information was released to the public.

So, before it was unsealed, we didn't know this Russian oligarch gave Manafort a 10 million dollar loan.

My point is... the FBI knew. In defending their right to do an insta-search of Manafort's home they stated they other information, not yet revealed.
We pretty much had to assume that, because the searchers didn't go to jail.

$10 mill is petty cash when borrowed by "a company controlled by Manafort and his wife".

Uhhh... yes, when documents shown to a judge are sealed, we know that the investigators and prosecutors knew about those documents, because they were the ones who found them.

Your point was that it wasn't news because the FBI knew about it. That's absurd, because the FBI conceals material found during investigations all the time, and then later might release that material to the public. When they release it, outlets like Reuters cover it, and that's called "news".
