Compromise before its gets to that point. I don't really care about the optics of who wins tbh. If Donetsk and Luhansk, regions who have always been pro-east end up with a Russian flag or Ukrainian flag over them it impacts me naught whatsoever and it doesn't impact 99% of all humanity not you in Germany and honestly barely anyone in western Ukraine.

But to continue a war which at this point is involving hundreds of thousands with massive amounts of arms proliferation, with talks of potential nukes, etc... Like wtf? We're losing track of what's important. No one in the US or EU will be losing sleep if one of those regions is Russia's, most Russians wont be losing sleep if they remain Ukraine, so why tf are we spiraling into a bigger and bigger war with calls to continue to do so?

The point of this war is not necessarily to return Donetsk and Luhansk to Ukraine, the main point is to ensure that Russia won't start a similar war again in the future. Also note that it was Russia which offically ""annexed"" Ukrainian territory just one month ago, even territory it didn't control at the time. That's an escalation on their part and signalled a desire for further conquests, so your framing of this conflict as unilateral Western escalation doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Russian colonel found shot dead in his office in mysterious circumstances

44-year-old Russian colonel Vadim Boyko was found dead in his office at the Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School in Vladivostok, where he was deputy head.

Found dead from 'multiple bullet wounds', Boyko reportedly entered his office as usual after arriving at work and soon afterwards, five gunshots were heard. Another officer rushed into the colonel's office and found his body.

A number of prominent Russians have been found dead in mysterious circumstances in recent months, though most have been critics of Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

It appears that the successful Russian attacks on the Ukrainian power grid that reduced the pipeline pumping of oil to Hungry have awaken Orban. Reluctantly they are having to choose which side they are on.

Czech Parliament Declares 'Current Regime' In Russia 'Terrorist'

Czech Parliament Declares 'Current Regime' In Russia 'Terrorist'

Czech lawmakers have backed a resolution recognizing the current "regime" in Russia as "terrorist" in reposnse to Moscow's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the recent wave of attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. In total, 129 Czech lawmakers voted for the resolution on November 15, while 14 voted against it. The document also condemns Russia's annexation of parts of four eastern Ukrainian regions via so-called referendums. Last month, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution that declared Russia a "terrorist regime."

Do you often find that the people who make fun of you value your opinion on how well they are doing?

I consistently find that I do not care whether your ilk find value in my opinions at all. I post for my own reasons, and holding genuine discussions is reserved for your betters.

Could you?

This same logic was used to justify Iraq, Afghanistan and dozens of other of interventions. Replaces nuke with WMD, Assad chemical weapons, fill in the blank. What has forceful responses begotten us in the last 30 years? I guess in 2022 some libertarian purist doctrines like being anti-war get thrown out the window because this time its different right?

Libertarians aren't wielding levers of power, so what libertarians would or wouldn't do here is irrelevant to what is or isn't going to happen. If the world rolls over for nuclear weapon use, it sets the precedent that nuclear weapons use is acceptable, and that means it will happen again.

Russian Soldier Faces 15 Years in Jail After Criticizing ‘Poor’ Training – Reports

https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2022/11/16/russian-soldier-faces-15-years-in-jail-after-criticizing-poor-training-reports-a79389

Russian soldier faces up to 15 years in prison after getting into an altercation with his superiors for criticizing poor training conditions and equipment shortages, media reported Tuesday.

The soldier identified as Private Alexander Leshkov was filmed shouting profanities and shoving an officer at a parade ground near the Russian military’s mega-church outside Moscow.

Leshkov can be seen flanked by fellow soldiers who voice anger over ill-fitting body armor and insufficient firearms training before their deployment in Ukraine in two videos published by the Ostorozhno Novosti news channel on the Telegram messaging app Sunday.

If you follow the timeline carefully, the annexation happened months later after when there were rumors that Russia and Ukraine may come to some sort peace in the early summer with speculation that UK poured cold water with Johnsons visit. Then Ukraine's line went to there will be no peace until all of Ukraine is returned.

I genuinely believe that Kherson/Zap were Russia's bargaining chip for peace, and when they saw that Ukraine with the wests blessing has no interest in conceding the Donbass, they basically said fuck you back and we're keeping and annexing these other regions as well.

Obviously it's not unilaterally the wests fault but why did we in the summer not push for a settlement instead we promised tens of billions of weapons and adopted their official line of returning all of Ukraine?

Ukrops went hard on trying to blame Russia for manufacturing a missile 30 years ago that Ukraine launched into Poland. Zelensky, Kuleba and others releasing videos and tweet threads demanding action against this.

Looks like even stupid Westerners have limits to their pursuit of nuclear annihilation, though. Weird to see pushback on any Ukrainian lie these days.
