The bold to me is so ridiculous that I don't even know how a rational person grounded in reality can think this. What would NATO or US or Germany or whomever do to intervene at that point? Declare war on Russia, nuke Russia? You understand that there is no scenario in which Russia is destroyed and western countries that destroyed it remain in tact. We do not have the means to stop their Sarmat, we do not have the means to track and destroy all of the nuclear armed submarines that are armed with dozens of nukes. Any intervention you might think of would mean that you are putting that target on yourself now.

There is something like a 99.5% chance that Russia does not dare to start a nuclear war against NATO, just because their troops were defeated on foreign soil. Nuclear war is so catastrophic that NATO has been willing to sacrifice Ukrainian lives (by not putting an end to this war much earlier) to avoid even the remaining 0.5% risk - but if Russia starts using nukes as an offensive weapon, in a war of aggression, against a non-nuclear country, the calculus will obviously change.
