Cutting down on unscheduled, surprise overtime as much as humanly possible is a goal to strive for, but at the same time, it is a goal which in its pure form is obviously unrealistic and unattainable.

Incentivizing employers to make work schedules for their employees as predictable and plannable as possible is definitely something we should do, but a detached-from-reality ivory tower perspective will not really help achieve it.

Employers pretty much do this anyhow. Warren's promise is literally empty.


/e Generally, there's two kinds of employees. Hourly and salaried. Hourly is pretty much on a schedule, and salaried is higher paid, so the employers don't really have to make a schedule. The salaried employee works till the work is finished, for the day, or w/e.
