Spring 2022, I doubt that spring 2023 will be any different. So if there would be any counter-offensive I'd expect it in January.

A counterattack in Winter could arguably be worse. Logistics are even more complicated in Winter. Thats mainly why I expect a Spring offensive.
Also, it gives time for Russia to bring in "better trained" troops. Currently they are basically plugging gaps with raw conscripts.

Might not even happen at all, however it is what I am hearing and reading about. Putin is already balls deep in this calamity. What's to stop him rolling the dice again next year in attempt to force Zelensky's hand in negotiations.

I would add that the Spring conditions were not the overriding factor in why Russians special operation was an unmitigated disaster.

there is a reason people who can are flooding into mexico, south america, thailand and some more places

it already is preferable to live there right now if you can earn like 3k $, which is perfectly doable

the west is finished

Earning $3k in places like this is not actually trivial for most people.

Russia will lose Crimea, expect a massive attack in Melitopol next.

I would think this would be a red line for Russia. Even relatively liberal / moderate Russians seem to perceive Crimea as Russia. At this point tactical nuclear weapons would probably be on the table.

for the locals no, but for western expats for sure

aside from that a visit to latin america has truly changed my perspective, the average folks are just so much friendlier and living life compared to the miserable middle class trash here

cant stand this shit anymore

Tactical nukes aren't going to punch holes in lines that the Russians are capable of exploiting. Beyond the shock factor, Russia has absolutely nothing to gain from using tactical nukes, and a great deal to lose.
