The Ukraine issue has basically been proven. The rough transcript outlines the quid pro quo, and documents and testimony backs it up.

Kavanaugh may have assaulted Blasey Ford. The other allegations were either suspect or completely meritless, but to pretend that it was just a 100% manufactured hit job is untrue. Democrats used her in a completely amoral cynical way of course.

The Mueller probe revealed behavior by Trump that would probably sink any other presidency. So the crocodile tears over how much it damaged his presidency are just amusing. It was a properly predicated investigation and there was good reason to question whether he was compromised in some way.

Obviously legitimate issues like Russiagate, Kavanaugh, and Ukraine are going to damage a presidency more than an illegitimate issue like birtherism. Also I think the Kavanaugh issue rallied conservatives around Trump. It helped him.

Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh were not only completely unsubstantiated, they contradicted witness testimony from everyone who should have been able to corroborate her claims. While it's damning that no one saw/recalled the actual assault, witnesses went so far to say that the basic outline of events she described (e.g. there being a party at all) never even happened.

I can't recall all the details, but it seemed to me there was enough there to not immediately dismiss the allegation, and her testimony helped the case. But obviously there wasn't enough there to derail the nomination.

Is it possible that Kavanaugh was the enforcer of a brutal white collar crime ring as a teenager and has all of his witnesses scared shitless and lying on his behalf?

I'll give it a 0.1% chance.

Entirely possible that Kavanaugh and his friend assaulted her while they were very drunk and didn't remember it. And why would we expect people in their 50's to remember a party or get together in their teens?

Why is it not possible for partisans like yourself to accept reasonable middle grounds between "he's a vicious rapist" and "she's a lying DNC operative"? I feel like I'm constantly arguing with caricatures on this forum.

You don't expect them to remember very routine things like "I used to hang out with Kavanaugh"?

Similarly, wouldn't we expect someone with such a vivid memory of the event ("I had one drink") to remember whose house it was, how she got there, or how she got home?

If she added a second door to improve the marketability of an attached unit, why would she turn around and say it was trauma as a result of Kavanaugh? Why claim she's terrified to fly if she was known to fly on a routine and casual basis?

I don't think we'll ever know Ford's motives with certainty, but we can reasonably certain that the truth is somewhere between mistaken and maliciously mistaken.

I've already said I don't recall all the details, and I haven't argued that her story was reasonably credible, just that I find the idea that she made it all up to be highly unlikely. Certainly possible she was mistaken about the assaulter being Kavanaugh, and obviously parts of her story were inconsistent.

this again? lmfao Blasey-Ford demeaned the shit out of her 'best friend' for saying she never met Kavanaugh. Blasey-Ford said her friend had health issues and that was the reason for not doing so

Very good statement.

The key section imho is this one:

Quote
For stating a verifiable empirical claim, Twitter determined that I “promote violence against, threaten or harass other people” based on protected characteristics. I was given the option of deleting the tweet and facing a timed suspension, or appealing the decision while remaining indefinitely locked out of the platform. I chose the latter option.

My appeal was rejected. Twitter’s decision to force me to accept a false reality in order to use its platform is chilling to those who value truth above dogma, as uncomfortable as the truth may be.

(Reuters) - Democratic White House hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Tuesday said that if elected she would require employers of 15 or more to post work schedules at least two weeks in advance, in a bid to tackle unpredictable and last-minute scheduling.

Sheesh. :/
