Ice would have to be really thick to support heavy vehicles. You'd probably need 70-90cm of ice to support armored fighting vehicles and tanks. That's not going to be reliable until well into winter, if at all. Moving water underneath the ice limits ice formation.

About 70 cm is enough for any tank. Realistically there will be about 15 cm which is well enough for infantry and vehicles under 4-5 tons.
