As for the pic...yes I know of Seoul and even of Japan. Two places that are being quietly menaced by North Korea. It's also one of the main reason the US just moved a strike force there.
The picture is just my way of saying: All the threats that NK can make...are nothing.

We already defended South Korea once, and will continue to do so.
We will do the same for Japan.

The U.S. wouldn't need a Carrier Strike Force, nearby to defend the U.S. The US's defenses can handle anything North Korea could send our way, just with our land based defenses.
The strike force NEEDS to be nearby to take care of things NK might do to closer targets...like SK or Japan, to name a few.

Are you referring to SK, that's hosting our anti-ballistic missile emplacements...or to Japan that really hopes we have close at hand forces to deal with North Korea, should Kim come unglued?

Well, mainly SK and China, who seem to prefer a calmer approach. Upping defenses is something different than sending a strike force to the coast of NK. A more symbolic threat to its regime.

Sitting off shore of a country that NO ONE is bothering (North Korea) who is pretty much stripping their country and arming for war IS a calmer approach.
China is the one that should be supervising their puppy dog...North Korea. But they seem to be "mostly" turning a blind eye.

IF I was a conspiracy theorist, I might wonder if North Korea arming for war (with no one really) is a clandestine move by China.

Like the picture portrays, we aren't doing..... anything, we just want to be ready.



The question still remains, who is North Korea arming for war...against? South Korea is not bothering NK, neither is Japan, and the US just got there AFTER North Korea started arming for war.
Ole Kim Jong is yelling that he will blow up everyone if the US fires a shot. We aren't firing anything. WE aren't stripping our country and arming for war.

Let's put the blame where it belongs...please.

Unfortunately, ICBM's don't take very long to get to a target, so we need to be close, to be able to respond in time.
