I wasn't following the case closely and thought it was a fuck the police verdict. So by law that was murder, not manslaughter 🤔?
Like Thor said, the statutes can vary from state to state as to what is classified as what. Generally speaking (and this can vary), manslaughter is an unintentional or accidental action, where murder is intentional (or accidental, while occurring during the commission of another felony, like bank robbery). Some states have multiple classes of manslaughter charges, whereas some don't, like MN. MN has just a 2nd degree manslaughter charge, and some of the cases where other states might charge first degree manslaughter are covered by the third degree murder charge here.
