Another factor to keep in mind is that the average age of citizens and voters is going up. The share of young voters among the electorate at-large is shrinking, which offsets the widening liberal margin among these young voters.

Something along the lines of: Democrats might get a better margin out of the 18-39 year olds in 2020 than they did in say 2000, but 18-39 year olds in 2020 might make up just 20% of the electorate while they accounted for 30% in 2000.

Largely a result of those younger people coming of age in a time of economic instability and very little economic opportunity and saddled with educational and medical debt the likes of which previous generations never had to face.

Give it some time though, the boomers are a larger portion of the electorate than the younger generation, so even the younger voters don't participate as much it should also be offset by the death of older generations.

But the only way to know is to wait!

Conservatism won't die off in America anytime soon.

No, it won’t. In fact the country is still majority center-right

https://news.gallup.com/poll/275792/remained-center-right-ideologically-2019.aspx

• The ideological balance of the country remained center-right, with 37% of Americans, on average, identifying as conservative during the year, 35% as moderate and 24% as liberal.

• Conservativism averaged 73% among Republicans in 2019, while 21% of the party, identified as moderate, & 4% were self-identified liberals.

• 49% of democrats in 2019 identifying as liberal, 36% as moderate and 14% as conservative.

• A large plurality of independents identify as politically moderate (45%), whereas 30% call themselves conservatives, and only slightly fewer are liberal (21%).

Also, there will always been a ton of dumb whites in America to vote GOP. The GOP plays their identity politics just for that.

They do it because it works. Only dumb people don't see the GOP as white identity politica. If that is news, I'm sorry.

Dems do it too.

Ideological parties fail.
