I think if the US and EU back off, he might just escape to the US if not he might be fixed by his own people.

USA owns him and Ukraine. They're not backing off.

Ukraine will be the USA's pawn in that region for years to come. Lest something significant happens to change that.

If Republicans win the senate and congress, we might be seeing something different.
They want to get rid of biden, he will become a lame duck and they will make sure Biden and the Democrats suffer a international embarrassment

yea so they wont stop sending money and this whole backroom talk about a treaty is simply smoke and mirrors. i mean, Ukraine and Russia are poles apart and you cant fix this.

Ukraine: We want all of our country intact, including Crimea this is our red line.
Russia: We want Crimea and we now also want XYZ, this is our red line.

they won't have that much money to send sooner or later. Well, too early to say but , lets see the next coming weeks.

Biden administration continues the plan formulated during the Obama administration.

You may have a valid point, But the global economical value of ukraine is a part of USA's portfolio at the moment.
USA paid off Ukraines Depts and is sending military aid.

This seems like a long term investment in the region by the united states, despite party lines.

completely agree.

They want to make sure they have enough aid and money for the Ukraine of the East which is a much greater threat in near and long term future.

Furthermore, i have a feeling Putin isn't going to live past 2023.

Yes and No, it is much cheaper than her 20 year war in Afghanistan , but they are facing a different kind of crisis now domestically. So there is pressure, but lets see what happens.
Mick Macarthy already say some stuff and "promised" some stuff to Republican voters if they take back the senate and congress.
