Russia fails to get UN to establish biological weapons inquiry into Ukraine

Russia has failed to get the United Nations Security Council to establish a formal inquiry into its accusation that the US and Ukraine have biological weapons programs in Ukraine.

The accusation was made by the Kremlin in early March just after Russian forces entered Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters at the time, Kremlin spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: "We can conclude that in Ukrainian laboratories close to our borders, components of biological weapons were being developed.

"The urgent destruction of these materials was ordered in order not to disclose the materials and the programmes that were being made there."

It involved deadly pathogens including plague and anthrax, she said.

However, a US official dismissed the claim as "absurd propaganda" and accused Russia of seeking retroactive pretexts for the war.

At the time, the European Union also said it doubted the credibility of Russian claims.

Ukrainian police uncover 34 torture chambers and prisons in country - reports

Police in Ukraine have discovered 34 torture chambers and prisons in areas that were previously occupied by Russian forces, the independent Ukrainian news organisation Hromadske International reports, citing the Ukrainian national police.

The report states that the torture chambers and prisons were found in Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kherson regions.

In April this year, the scale of civilian casualties in regions across Ukraine were laid bare as Russian forces began to withdraw.

Images from the commuter town of Bucha, just outside Kyiv, showed dead bodies with their hands tied behind their backs - seemingly shot at close range.

And satellite imagery also revealed a makeshift mass grave outside a church in the town.

Sorry I try to fact check where possible. this was discussed in this thread months ago. the US had biolabs in Ukraine, they were active and afaik they were all wiped and relevant files relating to same all shredded, at the time.

Igor Kirillov, the Chief of the Russian Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Force, claimed that the US has 30 biological weapons laboratories in Ukraine.

The truth is – they are Ukrainian biological laboratories, some of which receive financial and other support from the US, the European Union and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

This is not unique to Ukraine – biological labs in many countries receive similar support from the US, EU and the WHO.

NATO members supplied Ukraine with infected african blood for Azov neo-nazies. There was HIV and hepatitis. This threatens the country with an epidemic of deadly diseases.

According to our information, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health was in urgent need of blood for the wounded in the Odessa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. They requested 62,000 liters from the NATO countries. But no preliminary checks, apparently, were made.

Medics of Ukraine received preservatives and decided to check it. In the first group, 6.3% of samples were found with HIV, 7.4% with hepatitis B and 3.2% with hepatitis C. In the second group: 5.9%, 6.8%, 3.1%, respectively. Data from the archive of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal which was hacked by Kombatant team.

NATO were sent a letter requesting an independent evaluation of the blood and its component. Purchase of blood for the needs of ZSU "on the African continent" is unacceptable, emphasized Shmygal. He also demanded 680 million hryvna for "virus prevention".

doubt this is true and i'm pretty sure mash is Russian propaganda

yea the US has such sites all over the world, they actively research and develop weapons and god know what viruses etc. This is not news and I would not dwell on it. your on safer ground highlighting Russian atrocities, but just bear in mind gitmo is still open and we ( me anyway ) would prefer to hold the US to a higher moral standard.

Biological labs do not conduct biological warfare research, because that is banned in 183 countries under the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

Instead, they are on the forefront of a country’s biosecurity defences, and are absolutely essential in developing tests and cures (including vaccines) for new and emerging diseases, like the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.

In fact, both Russia and China have a number of biological labs, including the famous Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is located right at the epicentre of the first COVID-19 outbreak.

It would be hypocritical (and intentionally?) misleading for both Russia and China to demonise biological labs. After all, they are ESSENTIAL to every country’s national security, including their own.

Seems like you are misinformed on the subject, US providing funding to Ukrainian Biolab does not mean it belongs to us.
