ARussian politician was recently caught on video mowing down a child before driving away and leaving him writhing in pain on the street.

Sergey Mamontov, 67, hit the six-year-old child with his Toyota RAV4 in the Russian town of Tatarsk in Novosibirsk Oblast. Mamontov is a wealthy construction business owner and local member of the parliament representing Russian President Vladimir Putin's party in the region.

In horrific footage shared by Belarusian media outlet NEXTA on Twitter, the child can be seen walking along a side road when Mamontov turned the corner and hit him, running him over with his car. The Russian politician exited his vehicle and appeared to speak to the toddler, who was rolling on the floor in pain, before going back to his car and driving away.

There are bad drivers, and bad politicians, in every country. what happened to the politician in this case ? Jail / inquiry / anything ?

/edit looks like the boy is still alive in hospital, and there is some talk about the politician being expelled from the party.

He was expelled from the party on the very same day in disgrace. (However I find that being in the United Russia party is already a disgrace). A criminal case was opened.
