Iraq was more developed and wealthy than ukraine since the 1980's, before 1991, and after the sanctions ended. Even today the gdp per capita is higher. Ukraine suffers from a demographic split, and this split will increase. Libya is another example, which was homogenous, super stable, and had a historical gpd per capita 3-5 times higher than Ukraine.

But sure, we will see.



Wars just begun, millions have already left according to most sources, and this will ebb-and-flow. In the end ukraine will have lost millions.

Europe going down the shitter, ukranians/russians dying in a great power struggle is a thing of beauty for the overall future of the world. Large scale political realignments only happens because of events like these. There is no reason to be opposed to this unless you are personally pro-european/ukranian/russian.

Iraq was a dictatorship shithole, where 40,000+ where killed every year by a regime just cause. GDP only pertains to official figures, seeing how Ukrainian economy is 60-70% in gray area thus not appearing on official stats.

Libya same thing, centralized dictatorship government and lots pf people pretty much starving away from the 2-3 big cities or leading rural feudal lifestyles.
