Not really, they can work elsewhere, say in Poland and donate twice as big for ZSU/Ministry of Economic Affairs, for example, so the latter can pay $540 to those who decided to stay and work in Ukraine as volunteers.
And soon we about to see something similar in Russia

I idly wonder how many billions in arms the US pumped into Ukraine since 2014, maybe 30 Billion?

The United States has provided more than $20.3billion to Ukraine since 2014. It says 17billion from biden and that suggests 3billion from 2014-2022, but that does not jive noting it was 1Billion in 2014, 2Billion in 2015, 3Billion in 2015, at which point i stopped looking. probably about 30 Billion+

Once somebody leaves Ukraine, you cannot force them to pay Ukrainian taxes anymore.
Its a war time after all...
Male Ukrainians still cannot freely leave Ukraine :( as well as some woman in example nurses.
I kind of understand UA government, but I also symphatize with the Ukrainian people who would like to leave UA and live a peaceful life:(
War is a fucked up thing.
UA should be accepted into NATO asap, and in the meantime there should be huge international financial help for Ukraine, as well as ammo and weapons transports.

the amount of dollars is quite mind boggeling and my mind is not made to think about these things. It looked like 30billion+ in 8 years, and a further 20billion+ from the EU this year. imagine if they invested all that 8 years ago.
I would expect Russia to fully mobilize at some point, unless some bright spark and show me the error in my logic (Russia losing).

I'm not talking about taxes, but donations. It also may be taxes if they allow jobless men to leave Ukraine and work somewhere else for a decent EU salary.

When Putin announce martial law everywhere, not just fresh annexed territories then expect full mobilization withina week.
