The result of "helping Ukraine resist Russia" is a similar result to the US helping our 'pro-democracy' Syrians resist Assad. The only thing we're helping is a lot of Ukrainians to get killed and their country get reduced to rubble, and we're not even pretending we'll help rebuild when the dust settles. When it comes down to some vain moral lens of good vs bad, the net result of our half-intervention is a vastly greater cost to human life and infrastructure and loss of freedoms compared to if we had just let Russia restore status quo ante

At this point, anyone who acts as a pure-proxy deserves it. Libyans deserved it more than anyone else to be honest. They saw iraq and thought to themselves, yea that looks nice LOL lets do the americans bidding
