Why wouldn't we? the oil seems to be the MOST needed import of NK.
Both Russia and China voted FOR the latest sanctions, which were mainly about oil.
The sanctions won't be effective if Russia and China are still shipping oil to NK on the sly. We know and they know it.
Russia is also selling $2.5 billion worth of medium range missiles and launchers to Turkey. Russia already has bases in Syria, and if they get a foothold in Turkey, they will have TONS of year round warm water seaports.
I still think NK is just a diversion or pawn of China and possibly Russia as well. China is systematically moving to absorb all the South China Sea countries and Russia seems to be doing the same in the eastern Mediterranean.
It seems both Russia and China have big plans afoot, and I seriously doubt they will heed any directives coming from the UN, anymore.
It kinda looks like the Cold War may be making a serious comeback. It's not gonna be pretty, as far as I can see.
The bolded is nonsense. China and Russia trade with NK for the following reasons:
- China don't want millions of refugees pouring in when NK's economy collapses or war breaks out
- They make a lot of money exporting goods to NK
- NK hates the US and China/Russia don't like the US either
Russia have an economy barely bigger than South Korea; they do not have the resources to engage in protracted wars in the Middle East. They did a bit of showboating in Syria to look tough, and annexed a piece of land in Ukraine with little resistance. Hardly a second cold war my dear.
