Al Jazeera:
Russia rebukes Germany, Denmark and Sweden over Nord Stream pipelines probe. Russia’s foreign ministry says it has summoned diplomats from Germany, Denmark and Sweden to complain that representatives from Moscow and state-owned energy giant Gazprom had not been invited to join an investigation into ruptures along the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
“Russia will obviously not recognise the pseudo-results of such an investigation unless Russian experts are involved,” the foreign ministry said.
The cause of the ruptures in the Nord Stream pipelines, which run under the Baltic Sea, remains unclear, but European Union countries have pointed to sabotage. Moscow has blamed the incidents on the United States, without providing evidence to support its allegation.

Ukraine needs aerial defence systems to ‘deny Putin’s terror tactics’: Analyst
Fabrice Pothier, chief executive officer at consultancy firm Rasmussen Global and a former director of policy planning at NATO, says Russia’s recent flurry of missile attacks on various parts of Ukraine highlights the war-torn country’s need for aerial defence systems from its allies.
“From a military point of view, what Russia is doing is actually achieving is very little – their aim is more to spread terror,” Pothier told Al Jazeera.
“And in terms of cruise missiles, we understand that the Russians are running quite low on stocks, and therefore they are not likely to be able to keep up the tempo of the kinds of strikes we saw on Monday,” he added, citing Moscow’s missile attacks on a string of Ukrainian cities at the beginning of this week.
“However, what they can do, is from the current frontline use more rudimentary types of rocket systems to go after cities and the Ukrainian power grid and power generators.
“And this is why the Ukrainians really need more radar, and more interceptors from the NATO countries, in order to deny Putin’s terror tactics.”

this is a good assessment, and should have been at the forefront from day one noting the current actions from Russia were inevitable.

Ukraine’s admission to NATO could trigger ‘World War III’: Russia
Russia has warned that admitting Ukraine into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) could trigger World War III.
“Kyiv is well aware that such a step would mean a guaranteed escalation to a World War III,” deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council, Alexander Venediktov, told the state TASS news agency.
Venediktov also repeated Russia’s position that helping Ukraine indicated the West is “a direct party to the conflict”.
The comments come on the heels of a UN General Assembly resolution that called Moscow’s annexation of Ukrainian territory “illegal” on Wednesday and follow a pledge by Ukraine’s allies to provide more military aid.
