you're not wrong, the US will not cede it's hegemony, and that in many cases is bad.

however:

1. that doesnt mean that other countries violently defending their hegemony is the USA's fault, this war is Russia's fault, they were the one's that invaded. Ukrainian recruitment to nato is context, it doesnt excuse Russia's actions.

2. the alternative super powers in the world to US hegemony aren't exactly good alternatives, namely China. if a bad dude defends his alpha status against a worst dude the world is still better off than it could have been. it still sucks but it could suck worse.

The multi-polar world is coming whether you like it or not, sorry.

No longer will we live in a world where a handful of elites that control the most evil, satanic & demonic empire that the world has ever seen - an empire which has as its center of power the United States - be allowed to merely bully the entire world into submission as they have done for the past ~80 or so years.

Instead we are all going to live in a world where all nations are respected equally, international law is respected & applied equally instead of ignored & abused by said empire, and where power is shared equally between all nations with none attempting to subjugate, bully or intimidate the other.

The US & European elites do not want this because they are used to being wannabe tyrant kings and dictator fascists who do whatever they want. The thought of a more fair world is abhorrent to them and that is why they backed a Nazi movement in Ukraine and helped them take over Ukraine. To try and slow down Russia, to slow down Putin and prevent the creation of a multi-polar world.

Of course, this strategy won't work because most of the world simply hates the US with every fiber of their being and would much rather work with Russia than stand against them.

In the end the west will have to admit defeat and give up the old ways of imperialism. The alternative of course is a nuclear holocaust. Truth be told, it could go either way.

If you throw in LDNR forces, the total losses for all allied forces on the Russian side are between 15 and 20k. The regular Russian army however has only lost ~6k.

The Ukrainian sides casualties are much higher due to their tendency to throw masses of cannon fodder into battle and to cling to territory for as long as possible, and the large firepower advantage possessed by Russia.
