Georgia attacked Russia after GWB basically gave their prez the go-ahead. In a harbinger of liberal broke-brainedness to come Western media retrospectively cast this as a devilish Putin plan to coax Georgia into invading.

2014 Ukraine was a Western-backed coup that catapulted Nazis into power, which we see just today as the CiC of the entire Ukrainian army joins twitter with a verified account and posts pictures of himself wearing Nazi memorabilia.

Syria was destroyed by Western aggression, largely as a result of the "unintended" (lol) consequences of the US overthrow of Libya's government and subsequent continued funding of Islamic jihadists through Timber Sycamore.

And ofc the present conflict, which the US instigated while Russia spent years trying to find diplomatic solutions via the Minsk agreements, which every American satrap from Yats to Elensky refused to implement.

'The West' is already a fading memory. Can't even manufacture enough artillery shells to help Ukraine.

And good riddance. The only thing the West ever had going for it was the extraction of capital from the imperial periphery and a penchant for the unmatched brutality that allowed that to continue for two hundred years.

Everyone who lives here deserves everything that's coming - poverty, strife, decay and the methods of the empire coming home to be visited on the domesticity.

I'm a white guy who lives in Canada for the time being, but you're right. The empire will, as it always does, turn inwards. There's a name for this process happening, it's called "fascism". Of course, we had to make up a whole new term for colonialism when it's done to white people. The Germans experimented with and practiced the Holocaust in Africa, and 40 years later they brought it home to carry out on their own people.

But lets imagine I'm some schmuck who lives in Thailand or Angola or something. Overt colonialism doesn't, I think, work anymore. It was supplanted by a somewhat more sophisticated system of financialized extraction, which requires less in the way of brute kinetic force (though still some) and a much larger amount of ideological capture. I think we're seeing both of those things greatly wither.

Can the West, America mostly, actually dominate a country for the purposes of capital extraction, anymore? We know that they can destroy a country, and there's some limited examples of success when we see convoys of stolen Syrian oil being shipped into occupied Iraq and sent back home to replenish the SPR. But why does the SPR need replenishing in the first place? Biden isn't the first to draw it down, that happened under GWB even while he was leading America to brutalize Iraq.

The wheels are coming off, the West is being forced to have to do the unthinkable: compete on an equal playing field. One need only look at how many STEM grads China produces to see how absurd the prospect of 'winning' is, nevermind how many of America's paper graduates are just heading back to China once their studies are complete.

So as I was saying repeatedly over the past few months, Russia has all kinds of means for escalation that aren't just jumps to the nuclear option, as they've left major population centers unscathed and not targeted civilian infrastructure in some major cities- not to say they didn't on other cities, like Mariupol or now Zaporizhzhia. They could always have just carpet bombed Kiev from the get-go, if that was their inclination. Well Russia appears to be sending a signal of exactly that, they shot four missiles into the heart of downtown Kiev.
