I think its still an open question in this war what % of the ukrainian forces are nazis or share nazi sympathies. Now, by the measures set by liberals over the past few years, its 100%. A dozen men set down and break bread with a nazi, thirteen nazis stand back up. But in terms of actual ideology of those on the ground and viewed from a more sane and level headed measure, its a complicated question. The Azov battalion nazis were centered on the front lines where the actual fighting is taking place, while more progressive EU-friendly ukrainians have been in areas mostly unscathed by fighting, so it greatly skews the representation of nazis among the ukrainian forces. But its clear enough that the nazis exist, and are widespread enough that even with very conscious attempts to minimize them and sanitize their appearance for western audiences, they keep accidentally showing off their swastikas and SS symbols.

"The first casualty when war comes is truth"

This is why you need to only look at macro trends and ignore the rest. I see so many people on Telegram and r/worldnews trying to pay attention to every little event and there's just no point to it because it's impossible to discern the truth from the fog of war. Russia has a rich history of performing false flag operations so I wouldn't put it past them to do a lot of those things. However, like you said, you have to step back and see if it makes sense for them to do it.

I like to wait at least a week before concluding anything. Most people, myself included, have to absorb a lot of context to understand who has an incentive

1000 Nazis is not enough Nazis to elect nazi politicians. Svoboda got over 2 million votes in the 2012 election. Konotop had a population of 85,000 and elected Artem Semenikhin who has a real bone to pick with the Jewry.
A lot of the folks we keep seeing wearing swastikas or the SS symbol aren't Azov.

How many Nazis do they have? I don't know, but when it comes to a war that kicked off with Nazis arming child soldiers to die for them, I say, fuck'em

Less than the Republican party and probably less than the Democratic party if you include anti-Semites like Omar.

But what I don't understand is why you guys have to bring up Nazis in Ukraine to excuse what the Russians are doing. When you're a nation and put on your big boy pants, you break bread with some deplorable people. During WW2, we broke bread with fucking STALIN. Ultimately, Russia is orders of magnitudes worse and supporting Ukraine vs. letting them be destroyed furthers American interests. Sure, Ukraine has issues with right wing extremists but mature people have the capability to understand that it's insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

If you create a Venn diagram that shows where the far-right, ethno-nationalists, Nazis, etc overlap there's going to be a ton more there versus lets says Nazis and general society in a western country.

You don't ban a majority spoken language from TV and public spaces in a free society. You don't ban opposition parties and journalists. You don't go around saran wrapping Russian speakers to poles pulling their pants down for public ridicule while civilians cheer and police officers do nothing. That type of shit is more akin to what was happening to the Jews pre-war, to the Japanese after pearl harbor and so on.

I don't know what percent of Ukrainians are actual swastika nazis, probably very few, but a fair amount are very ethno-nationalist, a fair amount have no problem with seeing the above displays of public shaming and so on.

LOL! Honestly, that's pretty funny. I wish had more good spirited stuff like that in America compared to the racial violence that we have.

Thats the issue, you have no idea what you are talking about constantly, and pulling pants down in public was against criminals/marauders that during the first days of invasion broke into stores/houses people left behind absolutely nothing to do with Russian speakers. But not like you would do any research anyway, that requires an actual brain.

In some cases that was the reason in other cases it was 100% due to some perceived Russian support.

If I told you to show examples of this happening solely due to someone speaking Russian when 70% of Kiev speaks Russian on daily basis and it only goes up from there the further east you go you wouldn't be able to because it never happened. Now you deflect to "Russian support" instead of "Russian speakers", tell you what anyone who actually supported Russian army during first months of invasion under marshall law got off easy by being spanked on the ass. Same dude who thinks that voting for Yanukovich in 2008 instantly turned someone pro-Russian and not taking into account that he was voted in due to promise of EU-Integration and moving towards the west.
Please tell me more what happens here, you seem to be quite an expert. Enough said.
