by the time the west went in hard on Saddam there were no WMD's in Iraq, this is accepted by all sides already.

YES Iraq used gas, historically, as you have indicated.

Weapons inspectors went in repeatedly and found nothing, because Iraq got rid of it all. There are various books you can read about the US and English position, which are now accepted, which show that they invaded on a false narrative. This should not be news to anyone.
