China is self-interested and the calculus for the short and long term are negative by supporting Russia in that scenario.

The Wagner group pretty clearly takes their orders and gets their funding from Russia even if they classify themselves as contract soldiers. It's just classified that way for convenience honestly.

Ukraine has less than 1000 neo-nazis in their ranks. Yeah, it's a problem, but Ukraine is also sending them to die on the front lines which I'm always fine with.
