I know Ukraine people, they are somewhat obstinate (not sure if its the best word, not a native english speaker here).
Even after 6months of bombardments, they still didnt want to give up and surrender.
When the nazi attacked France, they gave up under 1month.
I dont blame the French people, they decided to surrender because they didnt want to fight. I understand it, they are peace loving people.
Im probably more French than Ukrainian in this regard.
But it only shows that if somebody is going to stop Putin in Europe, these are Ukrainian people.
Ukrainian people were losing in 2014, and made their military war ready since then, when seriously preparing for new war. Im not sure if any other European army is war ready now, Im afraid they are more like Ukraine army in 2014.

Not only that. It might sound like conspiracy theory but Correct me if I am wrong. I am using my limited knowledge of European History to make this statement.

This is just my personal opinion

First thing first the Nord stream pipes.
Although it is just speculation I believe that USA and Poland have a hand in it more than the Russians at the moment, however that doesn't mean I do not think the Russian might not have done it.
Reason why I feel Poland and USA have a hand or are more likely.

1. Biden and his gaffes in regards to Nord stream since February and CIA shared intelligence that there might be a Sabotage to the Germans.
2. Polish ex foreign or defense minister's comments on Twitter right after the accident.
3. I think think there is a pipe construction from Norway to Poland and this might provide energy to Europe as a alternative ? ( Correct me here)

On a Nation level.

1. Poland's enmity with Russia ( Historical )
2. Poland's enmity with Germans ( WW2 )
3. USA foreign policy of not allowing the Russians and Germans to be to tied up together especially in the energy sector.
4. USA influence in EU

If the Poles can get the Germans to pay reparations for another 100 years they will do so for the devastation they experience in WW2. They haven't got over it.
I wouldn't be surprise if the Poles are happy that the "German Nazis" freeze and the " Russian Nazis " get humiliated and sanctioned till they kneel.
There is monetary interest in allowing the pipe to go through Poland from Norway to provide energy to Europe. ( Correct me if I am wrong).

Everybody sane knows there wont be any reparations from Germany. The post war deal was clear: Germany gave us some land as reparations.
I consider us even, especially since todays Germans have nothing in common with nazists.

The inofficial rule is a derivative of article 5 (see the link). By allowing a country with ongoing conflicts to enter they can automatically trigger article 5. In our example, if Ukraine is accepted in NATO then all NATO would be in a war vs. Russia because Ukraine is being the one attacked. All of the article 5 prerequisits would be fulfilled in an instant.
