This forum is full of defeatists who would gladly let their anal cavity be used in exchange for dictated "peace terms"

The Internet campaign to calm the Russians is called "Don't panic". We see influnecers in it, who show that one frie or jelly bean against the background of whole packages is not so much. The same applies to the entire pile of cosmetics next to it.

Someone at this point could of course point out that human life is no fucking lip gloss, and sending people to war on the whim of a sick fucker in the Kremlin is nothing more than ordinary villainy.

However, it should be remembered that we are talking about Putin and the Kremlin with a long tradition of disrespecting human life.

Controversial podcast host Joe Rogan came out swinging in a heated conversation about abortion rights with guest Seth Dillon, CEO of right-wing satire site Babylon Bee. On Tuesday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” exclusively distributed on Spotify, Rogan hosted Dillon in a wide-ranging discussion about American political culture. (The episode is available at this link.) Among other topics, the duo discussed the Supreme Court’s decision in June to overturn Roe v. Wade, which ended the constitutional right to an abortion in the U.S. after nearly 50 years. Rogan argued, “There’s also women who have been raped, who should not have to fucking carry some rapist’s baby. There’s women who have been sexually assaulted before the age of 14.” Dillon (via Mediaite) responded that “there are people who have been born of rape and are alive right now and are pro-life and they go around speaking, talking about how ‘I had a right to live’ and they will go out there and make an argument, a pro-life case.” Rogan pushed back: “You don’t have a right to tell a 14-year-old girl, she has to carry a rapist’s baby.” He follow up by saying, “Like, you don’t have the right to tell my 14-year-old daughter, she has to carry her rapist’s baby. You understand that?”

Why do you behave like some tv-show host, are you dr.Phil or something dude? Is this your show?
Nothing to do with abortion, rape was mentioned as it was carried out systematically everywhere where Russian soldiers went. Thus it was obvious Ukrainian president would not continue holding talks with Russia from a position of giving up Ukranian land and giving up NATO/EU aspirations. It would just result in him being ousted by his own people.

Or we can look at this and compare it to Germany ww1 and ww2. We’d rather Russia be soundly defeated without giving them any chance to save face which will lead to the ww2-esque scenario.

No off ramp = continuous and escalating war. So back to your example it’d be the equivalent of the rape victims family getting shot dead in a shootout with the perp. Both dead. He got justice but can you really say the victim ‘won’?

These comparisons don't hold up in the case of Russia. Germany was forced into unconditional surrender at the end of both world wars because their opponents had the ability to waltz into Berlin and force them to accept it. In 1918, the German leadership was wise enough to surrender before their country was bombed into the ground, the nazis in 1945 were not. But the decisive point in both cases is that the evil-doers were soundly defeated on their own turf, with nowhere left to hide. That's obviously not gonna happen with Russia; even if we soundly defeat their forces in other countries, like in Ukraine or, say, the Baltics, we can never send our own troops into Russia, to Moscow, to deal the killing blow to their regime. We can't even credibly threaten to do that. Their nukes mean that they cannot be fully defeated, cannot be forced into an unconditional surrender accompanied by an overt regime change.

They can always turtle up behind their nuclear deterrence for a couple of years, regroup, replenish their troops and resume their aggression. It's basically what they did after their collapse in 1991. The only way to permanently stamp out this threat is to tackle them on the economic front, but that's obviously easier said than done when it comes to a major energy exporter who is backed by China (and, for now, also India).
