Catalonia, Spain, right before WWII was Anarcho Syndycalist, which is the closest form of Communism ever achieved in History. The entire region had no governent. All aspects of the economy were collectivised and the society functioned without money or capitalism and it was able to provide healthcare to 2,5 million people. There was growth in wealth and an absence of poverty. More schools were built and and they had a very effective military which they often used to protect themselves from Spanish Nationalists during the Civil War. Its was stateless, classless, moneyless and everyone was equal. The only thing that kept it from being the first Truly Communist Country in History was the fact that it wasnt a country, it was just a region in Spain that was being attacked by the rest of Spain.

pretty sure the people doing work on the farms don't exactly get to eat the fruits and vegetables they produce

Nope. But they could be paid in fruit in vegetables. I bet a farmer would gladly pay you in fruits and vegetables instead of money if you asked.

Anarcho-Syndicalism is way better than authoritarian socialism.

The problem is the same thing would happen, the rest of society would attack it, because there is a vested interest in the status quo.

Isn't it ironic that the single biggest argument against anarchist societies is the warmongering propensity of authoritarian states?

In the Social Contract, Rousseau argues extensively about the fact that wars can only truly exist between states, not men individually.

If anything, it proves that morality is anathema to the state. It's like the tragedy of the commons, but rather the tragedy of common power.

Not going to disagree with you here, the state itself is just a monopoly of violence used to coerce the masses.

People are too lazy to riot now in the modern age. The most extreme they'll ever get is take a break from their netflix couch to vote for sanders or yang.

Their desire for revolution is based on comfort, not honor. There will be no violence

millenials looking for a handout =/= the group losing jobs that would riot.

and we have protests that lead to riots all the time in america

I'm surprised someone hasn't reworded the Sam Cooke song: Chain Gang... for Andrew Yang.
