You keep saying WE. You're thinking to small, too introspectively. See above post.

No, I am too willing to assume you don't have insight into ALL products.

/e You don't have to agree with me bro. Just look at all the incorrect assumptions people made throughout history, when ANY new tech made it's appearance.

/ee Yeah, that horseless carriage will put all those horse handlers...out of business. In a way it did.
But it also created millions of jobs in the horseless carriage business.

/eee And not just the horseless carriage business. How about the license plate business, the license business, all the new laws, which created more jobs for lawyers, and paralegals, and couriers.
The street painting business, the road building business. Ad infinitum.
The road sign business. The drive thru businesses.
The gas station business, the oil business, the car wash business.

Hell, the horseless carriage business even invented the assembly line business. :)

i mean, i've done takeaway conveyors for handmade stitching textiles.

they used to employ people to take away, stack, and package them. then label them.

sooooooooo

I totally buy the dildo thing.

Artwork (the product) is what's on the canvas.
I know you understand manufacturing. What I'm trying to point out is all the non-manufacturing jobs that manufacturing requires.

/e P.S. Aglets are the tiny metal or plastic things on the ends of shoelaces. :)

my post on that very topic:

i realize it will equalize(lack of manufacturing jobs), i guess i'm just worried about the largest displacement of unskilled labor in the history of the US and the effects that might have over a 50 year period until we equalize and what we might do to mitigate those negative effects. are you caught up now sir?

Every point you have been trying to make was made by all the oriental women that used to sew baseballs, before they finally (after 100 years or so) figured out how to do it with a machine.

/e Ok, I feel the need to cheat a little...

Left handed smoke shifters, relative bearing grease, sky hooks, to name a few. :)

/ee Ooh, here's a good one and it's real...

Sushi erasers.
