Very simple deduction given you do not provide evidence/example to back your assertion that positives exist in a Drag show beyond entertainment value.. Cool that you have a sense of belief that there is greater meaning to it, but that doesn't help others understand you. Floor is open, still waiting on this list of positives. We haven't even got to semantic quibbling levels yet.

It'll be a Fool's Errand because you're asking me to identify positive aspects of drag, which I will post below, but it is a foregone conclusion that you do not currently, and will never, see any positive aspects yourself.

Many of the positives of drag include:

1. It fosters a sense of community, particularly for marginalized people.
2. It challenges restrictive gender norms and allows for greater individuation and identity development.
3. Drag is often philanthropic and contributes to local, national, and global efforts.
4. It is a form of artistic expression and becomes a medium for interpersonal connection and awareness of social issues.

You are just putting a positive spin on things. It's like I said, if you tried hard enough, you could find benefits for things like murder.

Also, all those "benefits" you mentioned are only worthwhile to people in your community. They are things that normal people can totally do without.

Drag Queen Story Hour has been around for a very long time.

Yeah. Since Michele Obama (as first lady), came up with it.
The articles are posted on here, somewhere.

The general practice had been around a long time, but "Drag Queen Story Hour" was popularized by author Michelle Tea.

One of the photos from this thread took place at Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, so I think that's where you're confusing some details.

Drag Queen story hour was invented in 2015. It was a non-starter until Michele Obama.... by supporting it, allowed it to become mainstream.
It was just another weird San Francisco, Castro area thing, with zero reach.

Excuse me for using the terms "came up with it" and "started it".
Michele Obama made/allowed it to become a thing... to become mainstream.

Lots of things are "invented" by others, but gain no "traction" without some serious celebrity assistance. Enter Michele Obama, as I mentioned.
Michele Obama gave it "first lady approval", which did in fact... "start it".

I lived and worked in the Mission District of San Francisco for a few years. I "saw" lots of this crap come and go like a rainy day.
Drag Queen story Hour was just another one of these... going nowhere ideas, until Michele Obama stepped in.

I have nothing against the LBGT-whatever community. What I do have a problem with is some in that community trying to convince children that the LBGT life is all sunshine and apple pie, because it isn't.
It a scary, sad, lonely life, because no matter the "traction" the LBGT folk are always gonna be outnumbered something like 100,000 to one. It's just a biological fact.

Now if the LBGT crowd wants to spread the message that choosing the LBGT "life" is gonna get one ostracized, abused, beat-up occasionally, etc., then fine... teach that reality.
Cause that IS the reality. It's not something you can vote, petition, convert people into "understanding", because most people won't understand.

It's just not the way most people are genetically... built.

If you want to enlighten children about the LBGT community... enlighten them about the numbers and the realities.
There's a "reason" most have kept the LBGT philosophy, behind closed doors... it's a lot safer that way.

Some people will understand the LBGT ways... most won't. THAT'S the thing that should be being taught to children, because that's the way the world has worked for 10,000 years. ^^

It's nothing more than genetics and evolution. The hetero world will always be hugely larger, because they can, without approval, have children.

All the talking, protesting, educating in the world, won't change that. As soon as the next generation of heteros appears, you have to start all over again.
Some people are open minded, most have a physical revulsion when faced with the LBGT community.

In biology one semester, they passed out these little strips of paper and told us to taste them. Most couldn't taste anything... for some it was the most bitter taste imaginable.
There are many other examples. Attached, or unattached earlobes. Which way we cross our legs or thumbs, being able to roll your tongue, etc.
Hair color, eye color, etc. Genetics will "always" win out.

The arch of change is towards acceptance. Younger generations increasingly don't care.
