NATO is a defensive alliance, but it destroyed Libya and Yugoslavia. Libya wasn't about the 'goals and function of NATO', yet NATO was there to destroy it. Libya is about the petrodollar (? pretty sure you don't know what the petrodollar is), but Russia... isn't?
You don't get to where you are by valuing tibbits and factoids differently, you get to where you are by compartmentalizing information so effectively that you are able to feel no cognitive dissonance when you hold two irreconcilable beliefs.
This is why it's pointless talking to you. Even if I ever get you to agree with something mundane like "1991 was a disaster for Russians", it will not go even a miniscule amount to getting you to understand Russian motivations for anything.
