Guess we just have different opinions on what constitutes a "moderate Republican". There are virtually none left as they've all been leaving and being replaced since the Tea Party movement started forcing them out, and Trump was just that on steroids. Tons of Republicans who worked under Democrat and Republican administrations, including virtually the entire national security infrastructure, came out against Trump this last election, which I was including appointed positions when I said that.
There are plenty of moderate Republicans. But you are talking about a very small group that has been moving away from the Republican party for years. We can call them the institutionalists and the bureaucrats. Their fate is tied to the liberal creep coming out of DC into Northern Virginia. That subset of the country has been moving into the corporate / institutionalist wing of the Democratic party for quite some time.
Collins, Murkowski, Grassley, Romney and Portman are all either moderate or very moderate (Murkowski so much so that she is a threat to leave the party).
