Russia's entire doctrine has been to:
1) Shell and bomb any Ukrainian position for days or weeks until the Ukrainians are severely depleted.
2) Advance with minimal casualties.
3) Repeat.
It's been reported widely in Ukraine-friendly media that Russia outshells Ukraine by (it varies) between 3:1 and 10:1. That's simply a fact. Ukrainians complain about it, mercs complain about it, and Western thinktanks gripe about how the West can't produce enough shells to match Russia even if they wanted to.
And when Russia is going to take losses, they retreat. We just saw that in spectacular fashion.
The preposterous position is to say that these things add up to anywhere near similar losses. They don't. They have consequences measured in multiples more dead Ukrainians than Russians.
Their *doctrine* does not mean that's the only way they become engaged in fighting. That also hasn't always been the doctrine during this war.
There are OSINT verified vehicles destroyed in the thousands. Those vehicles had drivers, gunners, infantry, commanders, etc. Yes, Russia lobs far more shells, and I'd be perfectly willing to agree Ukraine is more battered for it. But if Russia weren't the paper tiger they are, and were actually dealing casualties at your ratios, the fighting would already be over.
