the sad was more about him being given the run-around by the DNC and media. didn't even think his tweet was indicative of quitting

Well that's a given as he's as far from an establishment candidate as possible. It should be expected tbh, DNC likes their status quo.

the DNC and media loved Trump in 2015. they should love Yang as he's a minority addressing actual issues which would bring a large cross-appeal to voters but he doesn't kowtow to their election insanity strategy (pure emotions over logic or reason)

as for the status quo who is that this time around? Biden i suppose but there's hardly universal backing a la Hillary last time around.

@Bold: Because he was so brash and abrasive they assumed he would both taint the GOP permanently (you could definitely argue this has happened) and that he wouldn't win.

I think it's fairly obvious that Biden's the candidate who's pushed the most by Dem leadership. There are other way too plain candidates (Steyer, Booker, etc), but he's the big one. You can even see it in Obama speaking out on being wary of Warren/Sanders' policies.

Yes, there's less of a universal push towards one candidate, but by all intents and purposes, Biden is the de facto establishment pick for the Dems.

Biden doesnt have nearly as many endorsements from party establishment as one would expect from a consensus candidate of his stature (vice president to the party's more recent president, senator for over 40 years). None of the current candidates has too many endorsements yet.

It strongly looks like the party establishment is not convinced yet and hasnt settled on any one candidate.

Btw, fun fact: over the last 160 years, since the Civil War, no non-incumbent Democratic candidate who was older than 56 has won a presidential race. Their current leading candidates are 70, 77 and 78.

I suspect if Biden stays in the race, most establishment endorsements will go to him.

And yeah, I've let my dissatisfaction with the geriatrics in the race known a few times now. 70+ folks don't inspire progressivism.

I like the dude but if you don't worry he'll die in the next four years I got a healthy dose of realism to sell you.
