Few notes on recent campaigns.

Kherson offensive was largely a failure. Ukraine took some towns but nothing really of significance. I'm seeing some say that the Kherson offensive was essentially diversion to pull Russian troops into the southern theatre with the real target being east of Kharkov in the Izium direction. This seems like a logical take in my opinion. Over the last week or so, Ukraine has mounted a significant push into the direction of Izium. They outnumber the Russians significantly and in the last 48 hours or so have been trying to take a key town of Balakliya, which if they capture this then they can move on the highway that connects Russian supply routes to Izium.

So far the Russians are still holding Balakliya but Russian telegram channels I follow acknowledge the town will most likely fall. This would be significant because if they can capture this town they can cut off Izium.

He's got good sources. Izium is where at. If Ukraine manages to retake it and make it a fortress they'll be doing the walking and not just the talking.

and again, this i agree with.

^Djunior your arguement would be in clearer water if you were to argue whether sanctions have had their intended affect, namely a change in policy / strategy from the country being sanctioned. The answer to that is a clear no, and it was ever going to be a no, ergo sanctions have not been used to change russia's strategy, but to isolate russia. to put it another way, they have weaponized sanctions :) Thats a better arguement then to question if sanctions have affected russia (as they clearly have).

The fact of the matter is that Russia tries to work around the sanctions proven by the fact that they're starting their automotive industry back up. If they failed to start it back up then the sanctions would've hit much harder.

How you feel about it doesn't count. These are simple facts whether people like it or not that Russia is finding ways to workaround the sanctions.

I understand just fine. Your argument is "Them being able to make a minimally functional automobile shows they are working around sanctions" and my point is "The fact that they can only barely scrape together one functional automobile without basic safety features just six or so months into sanctions shows they are struggling".

I'd only describe Djunior as balanced if I was being ridiculously generous. He takes his sample from a highly right skewed set of data, and then takes the middle of that without removing any extremes on the right and actively excluding anything center-left.

Like I pointed out before there are plenty cars on the road today that don't have airbags.

They produce cars again, sucks for you I guess.

"New" stripped down version starting at $13200 --> fact

Fun fact it looks better and most likely much safer than the VW beetle which helped get Germans get back on their feet after the war. Y'all simply fail to see the significance of starting their production back up again.

Inb4 this can't be true, sanctions have shut down their automotive industry QQQQQQQQQ

E: It actually has a driver airbag, lol. Sucks even more for you

The fact is they are making a car. It is your OPINION that this shows their economy isn't that bad off. It is a fact you're just regurgitating propaganda from the Kremlin. It is my opinion that you aren't smart enough to realize that's what you're doing.

Keep moving the goalposts buddy. We've been talking about the automotive industry and YOU kept claiming it was down, I simply posted factual information they've started it back up which apparently you couldn't handle lol.

You should check the link I posted, it even got a single airbag lol. I bet you're gonna have nightmares xD

So their entire industry is now producing one car, and you wouldn't say that the industry is down? I'd say it's pretty far down honestly.

Your entire argument hinges on "the industry hasnt' been totally destroyed to the point of non-existance, therefore their economy is fine".

You can keep going but you've basically proven my point. They can barely make one type of car. Sounds like their economy is in the shitter and the sanctions are having a pretty brutal impact.

You're wrong again buddy. Why don't you inform yourself before embarrassing yourself, lol

sigh.

the overwhelming position is that sanctions have had an affect, and will ever have more impact on russia, particulary to the common man (or woman). If you cant agree on that then we will leave it as a difference of opinion. carry on or move on regarding this point.

Oh man, they have TWO! They're making TWO stripped down cars!?!??!?!

Shit the entire crux of my argument has been shattered. This definitely destroys my entire point and dismantles all of the evidence we have that Russia's economy is in the shitter.

This change in legislation means that cars can be offered for sale without ABS braking systems (usually supplied by German brand Bosch), forego front-impact crash tests (and thus not require airbags or seatbelt pretensioning systems), SOS-assist functions or even Euro 5 emission controls.

Have fun driving this thing. Gonna be a lot of road deaths.

First of all the argument is not if Russia is looking good or not but if Russia managed to produce cars again.

Secondly YOU should be kicking yourself all day long cuz your beloved woke "progressive" leaders completely destroyed trade relations with Russia. You might as well blow up those pipelines, lol.

Yes your argument that Russian automotive production is down is shattered because they're producing basic cars right now.

Expect better versions in the future.
