Trump actively made it worse.

Not his fault but he's responsible for how bad we are compared to the rest of the world

trump was the first one to apply restrictions while aunt pelosi was saying "lets party in china town"

"Both of these characteristics are strongly associated with the partisan and ideological lean of an area, and so the congressional districts experiencing the brunt of cases and deaths in those early months were far more likely to be represented by Democrats than by Republicans. But as the virus has afflicted more and more communities across the United States over time, reaching into more rural and exurban areas, that has shifted. In recent months – since deaths from COVID-19 began surging again in the fall – the average death toll in Republican districts is higher than in Democratic districts."

"But from September through November, the death rate has been roughly twice as high in Republican strongholds than in places where the GOP lost the 2018 vote by wide margins."

Second waves are stronger when the first wave is weaker. The numbers just arent big enough to support your hypothesis.

The kicker to your post? That amount of fatalities and business closures could have been entirely prevented, or at least heavily mitigated, if the President didn't host rallies saying that C-19 is "The new democrat hoax." Y'know, downplaying a virus and admitting as much in a leaked voice recording session? Y'know, like that one time he said on national television that the virus will never reach America and we have nothing to worry about?

But I guess that's inconvenient to your worldview.

Trump has no realistic impact on local policy. Lockdowns or lack thereof is all a result of acts by state and city governments. Not a single business closure is "Due to Trump". And as far as heavy contributions to covid deaths over rallies? That's laughable. They managed to track a grand total of 700 deaths to Trump rallies... Except not really. Person X who had nothing to do with this event died of covid. But they had contact with person y who attended the rally. Therefore their death is related to the rally. However, did person y even have covid? We don't know. So trying to claim that Trump's rallies, of which there were dozens, nearly all of which had tens of thousands in attendance, created some massive spike, yet... Total unique attendees to his rallies are estimated to be over a million, possibly as high as 3 or 4 million. 70 deaths as a result of millions of attendees isn't even a concern. Like, literally, more people than that die from fatal vehicle collisions going to and from similar events such as football games during a normal year.

You keep wanting to point at Trump, I don't give a shit about Trump. I give a shit that my mayor and my governor, both democrats, have locked down 98% of all small business in my city, refused to pay any unemployment to the majority because "furlough is not unemployed", meanwhile let antifa and BLM rioters run around burning and looting nonstop. I get that you're obsessed with Trump, but that's your problem, not mine.
