The fact that two of the Whitest states in the US go first and set the stage and early narratives for the presidential election is something that needs to be changed. I'd be a fan of putting Nevada or even South Carolina before Iowa and New Hampshire. An even better way to do it could be having the same "First 4" states all vote on the same day. I think it would give POC a stronger influence in the early going of the process.
i still say random states should be it - especially in years when there is no incumbent for a particular party. and yes to several on the first day - i say 4 and all in relatively decent distance from each other. like this year shoulda been FLA, OH, NC, and NM or some random combo like that
