It's located on the western side of the Dnieper, surrounded by Ukrainian-controlled territory, and all bridges across the river have been destroyed or damaged so severely that they can't be used to supply the Russian troops in the city anymore. Their supply hinges on a few ramshackle and vulnerable ponton bridges. If the Ukrainian side was able to destroy multiple massive, concrete bridges, they can easily take out these improvised ponton bridges whenever they feel like it.
Based on the things I've recently read (in last week or so) Russia has moved a significant amount troops to it's southern theatre. These latest counter punches to weapons depots & bases are significant of course but IMO no where near close to being equated with ability for Ukraine to actually take a major city back.
We'll see in the next few weeks.
