I don't think that's accurate given how many old people were killed by it but I understand your point. However, I don't think this observation is particularly useful. It's akin to libtards saying "herp derp America would have less gun violence if there weren't so many guns." We have the cards that we've been dealt and that's not going to change any time soon.

Anyone can change their diet.
Most don't because they don't know to or how.
It take knowledge and effort to not be fat, sick and dying.

But if was priced higher than sugar,
yes companies would go back to sugar.
However, I don't see how this would fix anything.

We have the ability to make nothing but healthy versions of stuff, including cake.
Yet companies not only are not made to do it,
they are incentivized against it.

Sugar doesn't cause blood sugar spikes the way hfcs does. Which makes greater sugar cravings and a higher propensity to store fat.

Calories aren't the same. Not all sugars are treated the same by our bodies.
