So it's clear that social distancing works but we need a way to get people to abide by it. In urban areas, I think cops cause people to disperse. In suburban areas, I think blacks cause people to disperse. In rural areas, we don't need them to disperse because their deaths would be acceptable.
I think it was always a given, people cannot transmit the virus to each other if they cannot get near each other. And yet once you're immersed in a fluid medium saturated with the virus, a fig leaf over your mouth does nothing. However, the government's attempts to manipulate people's activities through state-sponsored disinformation have been at best ineffective and at worst counterproductive. People who had freedom to congregate simply ignored mandates. When the George Floyd fan club crowded onto the streets, it wasn't a superspreader event in part because it was well ventilated outdoors environments, but mostly because all these people already had natural immunity from contracting Covid-19 as they ignored the lockdown orders in the months prior. Like Saint Floyd himself. In rural areas, people were more likely to host Covidpox parties to pwn the libs than to obey them. Until the government has the willingness to weld apartment doors shut and let the people inside starve during their forced isolation as storm troopers patrol the streets with shoot-on-sight orders and quarantine death camps for anyone who tests positive, like China has, we can't realistically enforce social distancing.
Those of us who lives as hermits in unabomber style shacks in the middle of the woods are unbothered.
